Science has a long track record of achievement demonstrated by tangible results and improvements in technology and understanding that cannot be denied. Then, the Bible comes along and on the first page, it says that God created the heavens and the earth in six days? So, why would the Bible, that offers no evidence of its claims, nor discusses its methodology for coming to such a conclusion be given credibility over science?
Bonus Question: Why shouldn't someone reading it for the first time just dismiss it out of hand after reading the first page?|||I've read 5 different bible versions, all BS.

just because you "choose" to disbeleive them does not make them liars .

The length of a day was created by man. Some believe in the first cause and they might think that the universe was created in 6 days and god created it knowing that humans would evolve.
There are so many different views, i think it's unhealthy and unfair to dismiss all religeous people as stupid.|||The bible is not intended as a scientific journal and therefore not credible source of scientific truth. The Bible was written 2000 years ago, and modern science dates back only to about the Renaissance. Religionists already had this junk pounded firmly into their heads long before people started investigating the natural world to find out how true any of it was.|||Genesis is not meant to be a taken as a literal account of world history; it is allegory.
