Why do some people believe a book written by primitive slave owners has credibility in modern society?

The bible is one of the most disturbing, cruel and bad written books in all of history, yet they some people believe it is true, why?

Please list these prophecies that it supposedly predicted.|||Let us not forget about the ancient mentally ill nomad's writings that forge the fists of righteousness in modern humans.|||1) Why do some people believe a book written by primitive slave owners has credibility in modern society?

Supposedly, well over 1 billion people believe that book has credibility in modern society. Since modern society is made up of those people (and others), clearly it DOES have credibility in modern society. It would be silly to argue that it does not in the face of such facts.

2) The bible is one of the most disturbing, cruel and bad written books in all of history, yet they some people believe it is true, why?

None of the characteristics that you assign to the Bible indicate that it might not be true. One could make the same claim of ancient histories of the Spartans or Athenians. Are those, also, untrue because they are filled with recorded cruelty, disturbing events and (often) are badly-written to the point that people commonly fall asleep while reading them?

- Jim, http://www.bible-reviews.com/|||Why after thousands of years, men trying to do away with it and burn it, why under thousands of years of assaults and insults, does the Bible still exist and is the most widely distributed and owned book of all time. Simply, because it is the inspired word of God and he protects his word for the benefit of those who would put their trust in him and his Son.|||Why, in your world view, does it make sense for something to be "bad"? Further more, how do you know if it was "primitive slave owners" that wrote it (evidence please).

here is some of the Many prophecies that have been recorded and fulfilled.
