What was the general credibility level of individuals claiming to have seen Jesus risen from the dead?

were they educated folks, scholars, community leaders, etc or just common rabble?|||A author of a fictional character can makes his character immortal.|||It would have been neat if they had gotten Jesus to sign an affidavit swearing that it was him who they were seeing, and indeed he had risen from the dead. Perhaps (if Jesus had signed something before that) they could have compared signatures %26amp; handwriting, and we would have a little evidence to give the story some credibility.

As it stands now, we have some stories. Either the witnesses made them up, or the person(s) that they met were frauds. I mean, the Book of Luke even has Jesus eating fish after he rose from the dead. What kind of "spirit" eats fish? Sounds like a huckster getting a free lunch off of the Jesus myth to me.|||Which people would those be?

The only such claim by a person that exists is the "vision" of Saul/Paul -- and he didn't actually claim to see magic jesus risen from the dead, he claimed to see a vision of him.

The gospel stories were not written by any eyewitnesses or by any of the people who supposedly claimed to see any such thing. It's the same as if I wrote a story saying, "I heard that some guy I never met claimed to see magic jesus." Such a story has no validity.

Peace.|||You seem to have a very odd idea of what contributes to credibility.

Supposedly at least one of the disciples was a physician (named Luke), and John the evangelist appears to have been well-educated.

Which adds nothing whatsoever to their credibility in identifying that a particular man is walking around.

What is more telling is that so many thousands of people believed the apostles.

Apparently, their credibility was good enough for devout Jews.

Jim, http://www.BibleSelector.com|||Same credibility of any people of the day...sorry, ALL history starts with being passed along verbally.
