The US has lost all credibility in the world since attacking Iraq. Do only democrats believe this?

Is it possible that there is no truth to this statement? Could it be that we still have credibility after attacking Iraq, and failing to follow the Geneva convention? I know that on any question 25% of people will be clueless, but is it not just a statement of fact?|||Yes, We've lost a lot of credibility. (Not all, I don't think. But the situation is dire)

This administration does not face up to this and gives us more of the same old thing. But no surprise, there.

And when you add in our shrinking economic might (for reasons other than Iraq), we're in deep trouble.

And I could agree with the answerer who said Might makes right. Except that we did such a horrible job of it.

An example; remember when we handed sovereignty over to the Iraqis two or three days ahead of schedule? The official line was something like "Well, you want to do this sort of thing as soon as possible, and they were ready." It's garbage. We did it on the sly for fear of car bombs and other things of that sort. It was a position of weakness and everyone (everyone!) knows it.|||yea most people don't like us right now.|||We have not lost any credibility.

Might makes Right. They know who their boss is. When push comes to shove America gets her way -- or else.

Only a pussy cares about their opinions anyway. We do what we need to do and tell them to stay the hell out of the way so they won't get hurt.|||I'm a army vet. Spent the past seven years in the service. Please explain the part of the Geneva convention are we violating? Also I don't care what the world thinks of us. We have fought for them on many occasions ( different countries that is ) and they turn their backs on us. That being said we should give a damn what they think! I love the US and the freedoms we have. if we have to protect it at the cost of being unpopular than so be it.|||no your are right.the us is losing it;s credibility.why because we can;t stay out of people;s business.and we have a president both past and present who lie not just to the American people but to the rest world as well.and why should we follow the Geneva convention rules when no one else does.if torture means saving a life of one of our military men or women then i say do it.again i;ve said this over and over again.the enemy shows no mercy to our captured people.the hell with the Geneva convention.have mercy on them tell that to anyone who was ever put in to a pow camp and see if they fell the same way.you treat the enemy the same way they treat you.if you want mercy then you give mercy or other wise go to hell.if you want to fight like a sissy then stay home.that;s how i feel about things.i;am democrat and i believe in using tortured to get information if it means saving american lives.|||only dim witted defeatocrats|||yes, they are not too sharp ! their elevator does not reach the top floor.also they have no clue as to what National Security means.|||It is very possible the United States has lost alot of credibility since attacking Iraq. However, this loss of credibility did not begin right away, and was a long time developing. It also should be noted that this loss is not due to Republicans and President George Bush, but with the liberal democratic leadership in both houses of Congress.

People like Harry Reid, John Edwards, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and too many others to name here have proven they can not run this country, yet try to tell other world leaders they are not doing a good job. These and others have played partisan politics since the 2000 election, and are blinded by their own ambition to the point they do not (or cannot) see what they are doing to this country.

The United States is the only world Superpower today, and we should be proud of that, yet the liberal side of the Democratic Party would have us apologizing for this. We need to start acting like the superpower that we are. This is the greatest country in the world, and until, and unless Democrats start preaching and practicing this fact, instead of playing politics, we will never get back or credibility as a nation.
