How do I check credibility of a non profit organization?

I am a college student and recently found this organization (www.projectprosperityfaith.com) from volunteermatch.org that I would like to volunteer for. My problem is that before I give all my personal info for background check (social security, full name, address..) I would like to know the credibility of this company. Googling its title just yields the website you show and the page from volunteer match. You could check with the Better Business Bureau in Columbus, but it seems like a legitimate charity.
